Experience Sailor Only is designed for sailors who want to become fully autonomous skipperscapable of tackling any situation, in any condition, without the help of anyone. All this on board a fantastic Oceanis 43 a high-performance boat that is perfect for learning solo offshore sailing.
This is not just a boat trip: it is an immersive experience of three days that will take you to a higher level of competence. We start on Friday mornings in Porto Santo Stefano (GR) with in-depth theoretical and practical training aimed at making you a complete sailor.
We will set sail for the island of Elba or Corsica and return on Sunday afternoon. During the navigation, we will teach you to:
Mooring and Solo Manoeuvres: Perform mooring and unmooring (even in difficult conditions) and sailing manoeuvres in total autonomy.
Advanced Deep Sea Navigation: Plan effective routes and navigate in complete safety, optimising gaits.
Autonomous Weather Analysis: Use the weather routing and interpret bulletins to make crucial (not just tactical, but security) decisions.
Instrumentation Management: Mastering the use of the Plotterof theAutopilot and on-board instrumentation essential for offshore navigation.
On-board mechanics and repairs: Carry out routine maintenance and diagnose and repair small engine failures or on-board systems.
Emergency Management: Deal independently with the most common emergencies (man overboard, equipment failure, health problems) promptly and effectively.
Our goal is to make you a skipper experienced and self-sufficientcapable of managing every aspect of the boat and offshore navigation, ensuring maximum safety and freedom at sea.

* Participants will have to book accommodation outside the boat at their own expense if they wish to arrive at the course destination before or prior to the purchased experience.
If, for health or emergency reasons, the participant is unable to participate in the experience, he/she will lose the possibility of obtaining a refund or participating in another experience. We therefore recommend purchasing our SeaYou Safe Return insurance for an additional fee of 7%. This insurance allows you to cancel your departure even the day before! In the event of cancellation, you will be reimbursed the full cost of the experience/holiday, provided that the participant has already paid the full price of the package. In addition, in the case of a regular trip you will receive a voucher to the value of the policy to use on your next membership.
E.g. Mario buys an experience for € 1000, adding the 'Safe Return' insurance Mario will spend € 1070 at checkout.
Mario, due to family problems, will have to give up his departure a week earlier.
Sea You will credit Mario €1,000 while the €70 can be used for his next booking.
Before setting sail, we will have a full briefing on manoeuvring, safety and meteorology. Together we will arm the boat and check the state of the engine and navigation instruments. After analysing the weather we will decide which course to follow.
During navigation, we will do some simulations of breakdowns and emergencies on board. There will be an explanation of all electronic instruments such as plotter, radar and VHF radio and their correct use.
You will do an initial routing analysis with the main systems currently on the market, to understand how technology can be your best ally. We will do a series of solo moorings, simulating strong winds using bow and stern springs.

I sailed in the Norwegian Fjords with Riccardo, a beautiful experience, I never expected such beauty, even the little villages we visited, really enchanting. The sailing was also enjoyable, I didn't think that sailing and carrying a boat was so pleasant.
