La 5-day Solo Sailor Masterclass is the most comprehensive path for those aiming to become a solo offshore navigator. Five days of continuous sailing where the boat will have no more secrets. In addition to the basic manoeuvres, we will get to the heart of the technology required for great crossings, making you a fully autonomous skipper even in the most complex conditions.

Exclusive 5-Day Course Skills

  • Using Radar: Learn how to interpret targets, manage navigation at night or in fog, and prevent solo collisions.
  • VHF and DSC Communications: Correct use of on-board radio, rescue procedures and land-sea communications.
  • Professional Weather Routing: Not just reading a bulletin, but creating a route strategy based on GRIB files and analysis of advanced weather models.
  • Extended Deep Sea Navigation: Management of rest periods, nutrition and psychological stress during solo long-distance sailing (Tuscan Archipelago).
    • Professional boarding and check-in: Not just a control, but a technical analysis.

    • Engine Check: Thorough inspection of the diesel engine (critical examination point).

    • On-Board Systems: Electrical system, hydraulic circuits and bilge pumps checked.

    • Weaponry and rigging: Checking fixed and running rigging, checking sails and lines.

    • Going out to sea: First session of basic manoeuvres to assess the feeling with the boat.

    • Mooring & Unmooring: Mooring and unmooring manoeuvres in confined spaces.

    • Extreme Conditions: Simulation of strong wind and current.

    • The Art of Spring: Using force lines for precision mooring and rotating in place.

      • Advanced Electronics: Critical use of Radar (setting and interpretation), Plotter and management of on-board alarms.

      • Sailing Anchorage: One of the most feared tests: precision and calm without the help of the motor.

      • Pilotage and Estimated Navigation: Practical introduction to tides and routage calculation.

      • Blind Navigation: Simulation of poor visibility and instrumental co-ordination.

Leadership: Handling of commands to the crew during critical phases.
